yoga & yummies II

It has been hooooot here in Montreal and if I hadn’t post anything on our second y&y experience, it’s because I’ve been trying to stay outdoors as much as possible, chillin’ at the patio or by the pool. We have been doing some exterior improvements and taking care of the lawn, which is a lot of work but also so rewarding at the end. Tomorrow we are going to visit another yoga studio, and I’d like to quickly share how did our last Friday’s experience went: Lise wasn’t feeling well and couldn’t join this time, so Pulak and me registered to take a “Viniyoga” class at Rad’a Montreal. The location was great and they did a lovely job renovating the first floor of a typical duplex in the Plateau (with its high ceilings, quality floor and gorgeous moldings). The soft-Vinyasa-yoga-flow left us relaxed but, at least for me, without the nice energy boost that we usually feel when doing hatha yoga. As the teacher warned us at the beginning, vinyasa is more about the subtle breathing and flow than is about the exercising. We did gentle stretches, trying to create space among the vertebrae and then ended with a nice and profound relaxation. I think this is not the kind of yoga I’m looking for right now, but it was worth to try. After the class, Mario met us at Aux Vivres , my favorite vegan restaurant. The terrace is open now and we had a great time! As usual, I order the bowl thai (surprising combination of wild rice, steamed veggies, grilled tofu, coriander, ginger and other exotic ingredients, with a creamy a peanut dressing on top) and a piece of the chocobanana cake. Delicious!
